I saw it the other day at AZ, while on a mission to complete my GC stash lol. I know it's been around forever, but never thought about using it. How does it stack up to say, a Chevron, Havoline, or even something like Castrol GTX? Any thoughts? I tried to find a VOA on it, but couldn't seem to find it.

I have a quantity of EM Superflo 5w20, if I need to back fill or want to change out with conventional oil on a 5w20 Honda Civic VP. There has been UOA's done on this board at 9100 miles and the stuff is still good. It is also hard to beat at a dollar or so a quart. There is also a 4.20 rebate on 12 quarts. It also has a load of moly in it. I'd say it is on par or better than Chevron, Havoline, even though I own Chevron stock!

I also just change OEM fill Honda 5w20 (made to Honda specifications by EM) after 10,000 miles. I did however switch to Mobil One 0w20.

I've heard it was high in moly, but that pretty much seems to relate to Hondas. How would the moly affect my Explorer?

I already bought some Havoline, but it's the SL GF-3 stuff. I'm wondering now which would be better...also I'm contemplating trying the TropArctic...hmmm decisions decisions.

Ruking77.....Use it with confidence...not only does EM Superflo have moly, it also has a low ash content which is especially good for high mileage motors, and shows good flash point numbers...I load up on it when I see it for .99 or less, then get the rebate!!...ps I also occasionally mix it with M1 of same weight/spec for a great Semi Syn....TCP 442

I know the 5W20 Superflo has alot of Moly......but does the 5W30 & 10W30 also have the same amount of Moly ??

Gee, I didnt scrutinize the other viscosities as well as the 5w20. I am not sure also what viscosity the OEM 04 Explorer calls for, but the 5w20 also complies with the FORD specs. I understand the Ford Specs for 5w20 are more stringent than even Honda's.

04 Explorer calls for 5w-30. I think I might run some 10w-30 for the summer.

I sent in a UOA of Exxon SuperFlo 10W30 SM/GF-4 recently. I expect it back any day. It is a short interval, but I hope to get a little info on Mo and other levels in this grade of this oil. Assuming nothing was misplaced or appropriated by the P.O., I'll post it in the UOA section as soon as I get it.

Will look forward to the UOA, Bulwnkl! Did your engine consume any Superflo over the OCI? That goofy Mobil 392F flash point is always a bit of a concern to me.

I think we've lost track of Superflo since it rolled over into the GF-4/SM formulation.

Hopefully we will see 200-300 ppm of moly and not the mystery ExxonMobil AW add that shows up as sodium!

I find that Exxon Superflo 5W20 is the cheapest locally available oil that meets all of Ford's specs for 5W20.
Since I'm running short intervals and short trips, it's the oil I've settled on using until something cheaper and just as good comes along.
