not sure if this has made the news where you are (where ever you are), but we had an explosion yesterday morning (6am EST, 01/10/15) in the Isocracker unit. by 3pm the fire was contained, and there were no injuries. State and Federal EPA are of course on site to monitor air quality, etc.

here are a few news links.

First the local TV station:

local Paper:

and Reuters:
http://www.reuters.com/article/2015/01/10/us-refinery-blast-husky-lima-idUSKBN0KJ0FQ20150110

it's a 155,000 bpd refinery, one of the oldest refineries in the country, and produces roughly 25% of the gas sold in Ohio.

now i'm just waiting to see when the leeches Speculators, are gonna pounce and spike the price of gas (currently around $1.97)

I Heard/Felt nothing. i was solidly Sawing Logs(ie: Snoring) when it happened.

All personnel were accounted for at the refinery...no injuries were reported in the blast.

Thank goodness! Refinery work is dangerous business.

I saw RUG around here going for $1.79, so the post crisis price drama hasn't kicked in yet, but tomorrow is another day.
