My daughter's 2002 Ford Escort (75K miles) has uneven tire wear. She took it in for an alignment and was told that the real lateral links need to be replaced.

A net search didn't give me any answers. Can someone bring me up to speed about these, please. Pictures?? Are they diy replaceable? Right now I am clueless.

Do they have another name? I couldn't find them at Rock Auto.

Thanks everyone.

Lateral links are easily replaced, at least on my Saturn. Usually they do not need to be replaced unless they are bent.

Make sure the technician knows how to perform a rear toe adjustment on the vehicle. In case you haven't seen my alignment thread, I had to have three alignments on my Saturn over this past week because the original technician did not know how to adjust the rear toe.
