Engine Teardown : 2019 KIA Rio with around 83,000 miles with extensive damage

I do enjoy this person's videos, let's be realistic, he only gets engines that are not properly maintained.
He's had some on the channel that are virtually spotless... other than the spot that is missing (where an inspection port got installed).

But yeah, most do look like the damage was owner-inflicted.

Regardless, in his industry he'll observe trends and could tell you what engines are reliable and which tend to be short-lived.

Granted, he didn't necessarily speak to that in this video, but I recall he's made comments in other vids (the specifics of which I could not readily cite).

08 was before the real problems started.

We have a 12 Sedona in the family that has been spectacular but it has the V6, the 4s have been the issue.

He only tears down the poorly maintained engines. He sells the good ones.

Besides watching someone tear down a good engine is boring. I want to see the piston mcnuggets

You make a really good Point, he most likely gets engines that have failed. A scenario here, a car gets hit in the rear and it is totaled by the Insurance Company. The car had 5000 mile OCI's with Mobil 1, it still runs, why tear it down.

earlier this week I saw a Kia soul try to overtake a slow poke motorist from the burst of black smoke out the exhaust and the immediate failure to pass I am now wondering if something like this had occurred that night.
