Yesterday I noticed what seems to be some sealant leaking from my engine. It's at a junction where two or three parts of the engine come together. I've not noticed it before and I check this area every now and then ... almost every time the oil is checked.

It didn't show well in this pic as the light was very bad, but I enhanced the color a skosh to make it stand out better. The stuff is blue in color, and it feels pretty firm. Couldn't squish it with a push with my finger. Any thoughts of what's going on? why this would be happening?

It's from assembly. You just never noticed it before.
As I said, and I'll repeat, it has not been evident before. Knowing that it's a spot that's prone to leaking, I'd check it every so often. I've even cleaned the area a couple of times before. This inspection was the first time I've seen it.

Find another one, then rest easy.

It is sweat from all the horsepower.

Shel that is absolutely some type of sealer/RTV probably used at assembly. Did you touch it to see what it felt like? Either way, you have bigger things to worry about on this planet.

I can check my '12 Camry with 112k miles and see what it looks like. But I don't recognize that area in the photo.
