what numbers in the oils specs tell me the oil thickness as far as if its a high or low 30 or 40 weight.
Actually the specs are 9.3 to 12.5 for 30wt and 12.5 to 16.3 for 40wt.quote:

Mobil 1 0w30 is around 10cst, so it's probably one of the thinnest 0w30s out there. Their 5w30 also was 10cst, but some of the most recent analysis results have suggested they might have thickened it up closer to 11cst now.quote:

Mobil 1 0w30 isn't exactly highly regarded on here, not necessarily because it isn't good, but I think just simply because there are better 0w30s available, such as German Castrol Syntec 0w30 or Amsoil 0w30.quote:

I don't have the answer but wanted to say that my wifes Honda CRV also calls for the 5w20. I've got the Mobil-1 0w30 in it now but I may settle in with the Mobil-1 5w30 after my next oil change....quote:

I'm not sure about Motul, but the virgin sample of GC 0w30 I sent in came back with a viscosity of 12.2cst at 100c.quote:

That's because the Syntec 0w30 is made in Germany and the 5w30 is made in USA and they are totally different oils, not similar by any stretch of the imagination. The 0w30 is a true synthetic while the 5w30 uses a group 3 base oil.quote:
