Engine noise on start up

OK, you're using a Motorcraft filter. Good choice, I use AC's on my GM products now. There's still a possibility that you have one one the car that just isn't quite up to spec.

The bad filter that I had was an orange can Fram. Enough said? I'm smarter now.

Again I hate to see good oil wasted, maybe you want to just thicken up what is in there, either add a pint of Valvoline Synpower Oil Treatment (VSOT), which will raise you about 2 cSt or to borderline bet 10w30 and 10w40, or drain off about a quart and top up with 10w40, which will raise you maybe 1 cSt. Changing the filter would make room for the VSOT.
