I was driving along and it went bang and stopped running. The crank broke right at a main bearing, spun the bearing and split the block right up the oil hole.
My parent's 1982 Chevrolet Celebrity 2.8L v6 blew at around 50k mi in 1986. My father being an old schooler for the 1980s thought 10W-30 was too thin and as a 10W-40 believer. Don't know if it was the 10W-40 or just the engine being a product of GM in the '80s.
