I've always used an ample quantity of pre-lube for the bearings, cam lobes, seals, bores (no moly here), rings, etc, etc. But other than not using moly on the rings/bores/pistons, I'd just buy "stuff" called pre-lube (or, mix STP with regular oil, 50/50) and pour it on.
So here's my questionS:
1. What is in this pre-lube???
And
2. Though most of it that I see is red in color, some I've seen is white. What is this white stuff?

Thanks to any that can shed some light on this for me.

I can't vouch for other pre-lubes, but our synthetic pre-lubes have concentrated amounts of EP and AW additives, with a bit of tackifier to make the lube stay on the part.

Our pre-lubes will flow in really cold weather as well.
