Elvis' plane!

So the jet was in Roswell?

Which means that this exchange, from Men In Black, is probably true....

Jay: [Kay is blaring "Promised Land" by Elvis Presley on the car's stereo] You do know Elvis is dead, right?
Kay: No, Elvis is not dead. He just went home.

As far as restoration? Sure, it's restorable, all it takes is money...and this one is gong to take a LOT of money....it's missing the engines, and it had four of them. So....

Sink several million into the restoration, and you'll have an airplane worth, perhaps, $500,000

Anything is restorable if you want to invest enough time and money.
Unfortunately Elvis is a dated icon and although famous in his day and for at least two generations, he is dated and this would probably be a bad investment.
The generations of future have moved on to other interests as far as entertainment icons.

Exactly.

Time is not kind to rubber parts, like seals and hoses... or EXTREMELY high dollar items, like fuel bladders.

Understand that an FAA certified aircraft operates under a type certifiacte - you don't just walk into Napa and have hoses made - the parts MUST be accompanied by a Form 8130-3 and MUST come from an FAA-PMA approved source, so even if you did find what you needed on ebay (LOL!) if it doesn't have the documentation, YOU CAN NOT USE IT (unless the plane is re-categorized to "experimental - exhibition category").

So, yes you could fly it again - if you throw huge piles of money at it.

Some one paid $400K for the Elvis Jet? no amount of money will make it safe to fly, too far gone, too much to go wrong.

You can get Howard Hughes Jet Star (same model) for just $45,000 - same condition - LOL

He can't be too dated. In 2015 Forbes had his estate earning $55 MILL, #2 on their list of dead celebs. In 2016 he dropped to #4 at $27 MILL. That was still ahead of Prince and numerous others. Only Michael Jackson, Arnold Palmer, and Charles Schultz were higher. You'd probably call them dated too....yet there they are leading the lists. Where are the young artists, sports figures, musicians that passed during the last 5-10 yrs? Elvis has been high on the list for many years - despite now being gone for 40 yrs.

Maybe the plane, or parts of it, end up in Graceland?

Jeez, absolutely tongue in cheek, guys! Obviously NOT a candidate for restoration!

But ole Elvis is still earning a buck or two, eh?

It could be a decent museum piece. Thats about it. There's no good reason to make it airworthy.

Except this used to be Elvis' plane... I'm not one willing to spend extra because of links with famous people, but they're out there. Bullit's Mustang etc...

Elvis's "popularity" is fading, so his "collectibles" aren't as valuable as they
once were. The fan base is aging out of the market for Elvis stuff. Traffic at
Grace Land is down. Younger adults haven't even heard his music due to the franchise
demands for air play.
