ELF oils? What's the difference between these?

They are relatively new on the NA market I believe. Anyone have any opinion on them?

What's the difference between these. I have a 03 VW Passat 1.8T and have been using Pentosin 5W-40 with great sucess.

Both seem to be synthetic 5W-40 and recommended for the same application. Any help would be appreciated.

The main difference is that the "DID" 5w40 carries the VW 505.01 spec for the TDI-PD engines.

The LDX lacks the 505.01 approval.

First one is Excellium DID 5w-40. It is mainly for VW TDI engine which requires VW 505.01 approval. Only fews are out there to meet this requirement

Seconde one is Excellium LDX 5w-40. It has VW 502 (gasoline) and 505 (Diesel) approval. Your 1.8t engine must use vw 502 approved oil.
