No real push for this item so Honda is suppose to be saying bye bye. Wonder how soon?

I liked the Element. Until I rode in one as a rear seat passenger. Access through the suicide rear doors is a pain in the culo.

I sure would hate to see the Element go. We love our '05; it is so versatile. You either love or hate the style...there is no in-between. Just to put the interior cubic feet in perspective: the Element has 47 cubic feet; The Chevy Tahoe has 50.5 cubic feet. Pretty impressive interior volume for a "toaster design".

Honda intended to price the Element below the otherwise similar CRV.
It therefore had to have some disadvantages.
First, its general appearance is functional at best.
Second, the rear door inconvenience was intentional.
Why would anyone pay more for the less spacious and otherwise similar CRV unless the Element had some intended minuses?
The Element does have roof crush strength in excess of the CRV, almost as good as a Forester.

I like the grey polymer sides for low maintenance and dent resistance, but the vehicle looked ridiculous, and should have provided 5mpg better.

I considered buying an Element but was put off by the very low load limit. For a vehicle with the the same running gear as the CRV why was the load limit so much lower for the Element?

Hey, I like the Soul! I came very close to buying one - it's a really nice package for the price.

I like the Soul and the Cube and the first gen xB. The new one is iffy.

I too also like the Kia Soul. I think that it looks pretty good. At least it is not your run of the mill cookie cutter looking car. That is also the same reason I liked the Element.

Don't like "aesthetics" of the Element, Cube, or Soul. They all look very 1920s morgue car like. I'll save the coffin thing they have going in the looks department until I'm in one.

But I am very picky about looks and most of the styling trends over the past 3 years are a big fail to me.

If I'm buying one of the newer gen cars I want something like Focus or Fusion; if I'm going SUV give me a Forester. I have no towing or cargo needs; a Forester is overkill for me but I like the look and basic utility of them.

I would like to know this also. You could not pry my wife's Element from her cold dead hands. They are boxy, but they are great, dependable vehicles. Ours has served us very well.

And in addition to that, it has only four passenger seats. I never seriously considered buying an Element, but once I noticed that "feature" I mentally placed the Element on my "never ever" list.

I wonder how much impact the four-seats-only thing had on the Element's popularity (or lack thereof).

There's a syndicated news story about the Element's impending demise floating around all the mainstream news sites (CNN, Fox, and so forth).
