Eventually I'll get one.

I have 4 working saws now but could see myself with just this one as I have less stuff to cut every year.

Also can be equipped with a large backpack battery if needed.

Top handle version available as well.

Husqvarna now has a whole range of battery powered stuff, All use the same battery it seems.

I usually keep 1 gas and 1 electric. My gas only goes out into the woods and my electric does everything else. If you get an electric, look at a heavy duty model like a Makita/Dolmar. Mine came with a 16" bar and I also have a 14" bar for it. The only thing I don't like about most chainsaws is that lefties like myself often have to circumvent the safety mechanisms to use it comfortably.
This is the one I currently use:

both, I have a polesaw with detachable 12" electric

and a couple cheapo- gas models that work well enough.

If I needed to cut more I'd grab something better but they are just cleanup saws mostly.

PS----Remember to add stabil or the ethanol treatment of your choice in your car, lawn equipment and such.....it does work and your fuel lines( plastic ones will thank you and the rust will not form and your gas will not turn to syrup...

Electric doesn't sound like a good idea if your clearing out a blow down in the rain.

If your only going to own one, make it as versatile as you can.

That's an excellent point. Even having an extension cord dragged across a damp lawn can cause you to be the blow down!

A GFCI should be used.
