I had to buy a new ppt-2620 peice of echo equipment as I gave up trying to find a used one, I found that it has a tiny small NGK plug in it. Im sure this is not 100% due to cost cutting but was curious what other advantage this has. The plug is more expensive.

It's a colder plug I think, less resistance since it has less distance to travel. I could be wrong, but I think that is what it is.

You get to say "Awww isn't that cute" every time you change it and now you remember which plug in your pile of spare plugs actually fits the thing now...

Probably just a good way for them to raise the price, lower materials, and not have everyone freak out that their favorite plug changed.

Echo uses a very small plug. Are you saying they now use something smaller?

Stihl and Honda have been using these 10mm sparkplugs for a long time.Common ones are NGK CMR6H,CMR5H and CMR6A.
My guess is they take up less space. They are equally as reliable as the 14mm bantam plugs.
