Earth X Batteries?

The experimental guys love them.

However, the AH ratings may fall short of a certified aircraft's needs. The Cardinal community has been looking into the EarthX ETX900, and while the battery would provide ample starting power, its 15.6AH rating falls quite short of the 1C (1 hour rate, which is common in aviation) AH certification requirement of at least 25AH. They don't seem to make a suitable battery for the Cardinal crowd.

My 177RG uses a (now $500) 33AH lead-acid battery that weighs 32 pounds and lasts 3-4 years before it fails the capacity check.

Which brings up a good point. With quality batteries, the 1C AH rating matches the weight on 12V batteries, and is half the weight on 24V batteries. So a 44Ah, 24V Concorde will weigh about 86-88 pounds.
