Approx 4400 miles off my escalade (ST syn 5w30 oil), looks really good, more pleats than a purolator, replaced w an AC Delco

What does "Water tested" actually mean?
I am guessing can is sealed and pressurized and place under water to check for leaks?

Whats on the top left, a glob of glue?

Is the Delco filter an e-core?

Water Tested ?
My guess would be:

The Filter was pressure tested using Water.
If it failed, it would spring a leak.

If it was tested using Air and failed, it would explode (to some degree / depending on air PSI).

Fir Extinguishers are pressure tested using water.

As with most of the China coo jobber/value filters posted, looks ok, efficiency unknown. The latter may not matter to some and that's quite ok with me. Just pointing it out as a point of reference.

No idea what water tested means, but that labeling along with coil compression spring, generally signs of a made in China filter.

Thanks for c&p.

i have never seen "water tested" on a oil filter. Top left is excess glue perhaps. And the new delco filter is a classic non ecore. The ecore filter would be labeled pf61E

Attached to a fixture,
Pressurized with air,
and external can placed under water to look for bubbles.

No water enters the inside.

Yep, that was my thought too. If it doesn't leak pressurized air it's not going to leak oil.
