DYE - In Fuel ( Leak )

Getting some random fuel smell in cabin, not very consistent. ( my guess is injector or fuel rail ), I had rail out to replace thermostat housing, what is odd that smell is not continuous.

Does anyone have experience with using UV Dyes in Fuel ?

Are they safe for HPFP ( high pressure fuel pumps ) and in general Direct Injection systems.
