I had a squirrel chew through a 220 wire in my old cabin. Fricassee rodent.
Decades ago, a friend's sister's rabbit chewed through an electric cord; completely unbeknownst to us.
The first thing we noticed was the rabbit shotting straight up in the air, hitting the ceiling hard, and landing back on the floor.
One second for the whole exercise.
It sat still for a while breathing heavily, then hopped back into his sister's room.

I use to have a dog that attacked the extension cord for the Christmas lights. It was on a timer so he got away with it once. Still cost me two cords.

The cord was plugged in and cleanly severed with no signs that there was any kind of "pop". Also a couple of tooth marks near where it was cut to help me figure it out. Thankfully after that she confined her diet to shoes.
My daughter's labradoodle (big dog) turned the gas burner on. No damage.
That's probably thanks to a previous mishap when the white dog got a hold of the SAWZALL. It's funny when the brown dog looks up startled. He can sense trouble right away.

Looking at the building fire… He stays and watches it…
Buster : Should we go upstairs and bark from up there ?
Rocky : NO… You are certifiably STUPID… Smoke rises and heart RISES YOU MORON… We will DIE if we go up there…Now GET YOUR REAR END BARKING if you want to LIVE ! !

Buster finally leaves the room after couch nearby caches fire.., He starts barking and howling too….
Buster and Rocky are rescued thank goodness by the firefighters…
They are put together in a nearby truck…
