If my '89 S-10 with the 4.3L V6 had roller lifters (and I know it did for sure) then dollars to donuts I bet your '96 small block has'em too.

I'm wondering if my 5.7l has roller lifters. Some say it does, some say no. Anybody know for sure? It's in a 1996 GMC pickup. I believe this is the first year for the vortec motors if that matters.

Probly not! I just put a long block in a 97' Suburban 1500. The truck was bought new and I replaced the engine for the original owner.
It did not have rollers lifters......neither did the Goodwrench 350 I put in it.
