This is a sample pulled from my Durango 3.6L with 127,420 miles total and 15,820 miles on the oil. The oil is HP 5w-20 by High Performance Lubricants in Manteno, IL. This oil is intended for extended drain intervals. I will sample again at 20,000 miles. Filter is a Fram Ultra, which was not changed at this sample. Consumption was zero, which improved from about 0.25qt every 5,000 miles. Lab is WearCheck. The oil has been in service since 12/26/2019

The viscosity has increased slightly but the TBN is still 5, so we are going to run it to 20,000 and resample.

Where is the copper coming from (and no lead)? Oil cooler? The Iron and silicon are getting up there.

Looks good. HPL is very good oil. I wish they had at least free shipping at that price.

The copper is probably leaching from the oil cooler and is no problem. The iron is just slightly more than 1ppm/1000miles, which is very low. The VOA show Si starts at 9ppm, so again Si is very low even at 16,000 miles.

Maybe @High Performance Lubricants wants to comment?

I think I've asked you this previously but for clarification, did you purchase this oil or was it provided to you?

Wondering how much they are charging per quart, and if you can post the product data sheets? I tried to download from the site, but they did not allow on phone…

Outstanding results there, Wayne! Fe wear rate is very low, and the others are pretty much non-existent. Contamination is low as well. TBN is holding on as well (would want to know TAN at some point). Heck of a good engine there; the 3.6L never gets the love that the Hemi gets, but the 3.6L engine just gets it done quietly and with no fuss; pretty darn reliable engine. Soldier on; there's life left in that lube!

Very good report but Boron is getting a little weak.
Boron, in the form it is in, in this oil will deplete. It will get Wayne to a 20,000 mile drain with very low wear rates without a filter change and zero make up oil. I am happy with that.
The viscosity held up pretty good
We use 24SSI VI improvers in our oil and therefore see good stability. 35SSI VI improvers are more common and if we used those you would see an initial dip in viscosity then at around 20,000 the vis should be roughly like new. The fact that oils will thicken with age coupled with a slight increase in VIS does support what I would expect to see in this sample set. It is nice to see the consumption to go down as well as that is a reward from choosing better base stocks to start with.
I think I've asked you this previously but for clarification, did you purchase this oil or was it provided to you?
It does not matter how many times you ask. We do not bribe forum moderators for results. We save results for NHRA Championships (6) and good data like the table above.

Thanks to everyone for the compliments we do really try hard to do the right thing.

The only one here that has used the word 'bribe' is yourself. It seems an odd choice given the circumstances.....

Your previous question was out of line and a direct allusion to the word "bribe". Grow up!
I was seeking clarity and transparency only.

Please don't project your assumptions onto what you perceive as my intentions.

We are all adults here and we know that others may bring a different perspective than our own.

Cheers!!!
