Earl Scruggs, Levon Helm, now Doc Watson. Tough year for personal musical heroes. "How I miss the Mississippi and you."

Yes, one can talk about their supposed 'guitar heroes' all they want, BUT this man was a GOD of the six-string, a flat AND finger-picking genius!!!

Yet another of my 'bucket-listers' gone before I ever had a chance to see them live and in person.

To quote Guy Clark (who I MUST see soon, before it is too late as well), "I have seen the David, I've seen the Mona Lisa too, and I have heard Doc Watson play Colombus Stockade Blues".

Yes, R.I.P. in bluegrass/flatpicking heaven, maestro!!

Best flat-picker I ever heard. "Tennessee Stud" keeps rolling through my head. It indeed has been a tough year on quality musicians.
