That seems designed to ensure that liquor store employees get days off for those two holidays.
 
CT on Sunday no alcohol sold, unless it is @ a vineyard where it is classified as an ag product. Last sale is 9pm on other days; this is currently being challenged.

I remember no big box stores open on Sundays back in the 1960s. My father used to take me down to the Two Guys parking lot and watch the sports cars run the cones.

If wipers are on the headlights must be on too.
