Effects of too much soot in the oil. I'd think this would typically happen faster on a diesel then on a GDI engine (maybe about the same rate with a turboed GDI engine per link in post #57) if the oil was ran the same amount of time. Things start going wild at around the 3% to 4% soot level.
Well, we have the 2GR-FSE, which was introduced in 2005. As I said however, they used dual injection (D4-S) which has both direct and port injection which other manufacturers are also implementing now, as it provides several benefits.
OK? ACEA formulations change too, that's not something exclusive to the API and many oils have both API and ACEA approvals. Not really sure what your point is here?
