I bought a set of Michelin Cross Terrains for my Cherokee in November, 2001. I've been very happy with these tires. I paid $92 a piece for them, total out the dooor with balancing, etc. was about $450. BUT, their warranty says 60K, mine have 40K on them and I'm seeing wear indicator bars. I went by today, and they are going to knock $50 a tire off my next purchase. Unfortunately, the CT's are now $123 there ($113 at Tire Rack), and I'm not swimming in cash these days. So for $268 out the door, I get a new set of LTX M/S. Comes out to under $70 per tire, mounted, balanced, road hazard warranty etc.
Sounds good to me. Oh yeah, a $50 mail-in rebate brings it down to $218.

I agree, I have had good sevice from Discount Tire. Their standard prorated road hazard warranty has saved me money 3 times already on two sets of tires I bought from them.

A few of my local DT can't balance tires! I finally found one that can (different machine maybe) and I am sticking with it.
