2005 Tundra..., I follow the same routine as you with a slight modification. After changing oil/filter I run the engine for 2-3 minutes or drive to whatever local place I may need to go, come home and check the dipstick next morning. This way I know what the dipstick measurement should be less what maybe trapped in the filter and engine. When I check it a week later I know where it should measure as per normal use. Probably accounts for less than a pint to a quart+ depending on engine type,filter size/placement...we all think to much about this stuff
