If we use oil in diesel engine, is it better to use API CF grade oil? Would it be any difference in engine performance using gasoline API SL/CF grade oil?

If you had a choice between a diesel only oil (CF) and a gasoline/disel oil (SL/CF). If running in a diesel then a CF only designation would be a better choice. It probably has more detergents in it than a SL/CF. Performance wise probably not much but the diesel only oil would be cleaner I suppose. I see that many synthetic oil for cars are SL/CF. But for diesel oils many are like CH-4/SL. Haven't seen any diesel only oils.
