I don't know if this has been posted before, but it seems no one can answer this question for me.

What happens if you add both a demulsifier and an emulsifier to the same tank of diesel?

TIA.

If there is any water at all, some gets emulsified and some gets demulsified is my guess, though I've never experimented to make sure.
I don't think that they would react together, as they don't really work by reaction to remove the water. But I don't know if one would have a higher affinity to the water over the other, having preferential bias until it was used up and then the other could take over. Interesting question.

Asking this because some of the additive that I use is a emulsifier and some is a demusifier.
If you add both to the same tank, let's say at filling up with a half tank, what happens?
I'm sure some of you have done this, ever think about it?
