Been up since midnight and drove about 400 miles so lots of odd stuff to think about.

i always assumed it was the rear crank seal ,rope that was cut by hand they always leaked in the corners-eventually

And just about every garage had an oil catch pan beneath the engine to catch the ubiquitous oil leaks from those 60s and 70s cars. Actually, the concrete floor in the garage (of the home) where i grew up had a sand pit beneath the engine area.

Well, it was from 1991. Still a lot of 70s and 80s vehicles on the road in 1991.

I go by the size of the scrape in the road.

I go by the quantity. It’s more useful than size IMO
