I hear this all the time, and I disagree. I think the Thunderbirds are better...then again, it probably helps that they fly superior aircraft...
The Thunderbirds fly old F-16s.
They sometimes get pretty close in formation.
So, neither their airplane, nor their pilots, meet the standards of the Blue Angels.
By the way, I've got $20 that says the T-birds crash in Colorado Springs was due to flameout. Look at the crash photos - no fire...there was no fuel in that jet.
Nice, ran out of gas (bozo/rookie mistake) in front of the President while doing an airshow for your service academy.
Those "old" F-16s will outperform an F-18 any day, and twice during an air show...and Air Force pilots are better than Navy pilots...
Surely you Jest!
AF pilots are just 9 to 5 fair weather flyers, Navy pilots are all weather pilots that fly a more strict regime, carrier ops is the most demanding of all flying, with three WestPacs under my belt and 22 yrs of Naval aircraft maintenance experience you haven't a clue Grampi.
