Yeah the lawyers make out like bandits but if you bought a diamond or diamond jewelry from September 20, 1997 to March 31, 2006 you get a cut, with little effort.

Are you kidding in providing the fact that if I bought a ring that held a diamond which cost over $2000, that my pro rata share will be limited? How is that fair? The legal team is making how much money from this class-action lawsuit? Nearly $100MM?

It is because of stupid things like this that people not only hate lawyers, but that the legal system is more or less useless to the private citizen. The "lawyer's monopoly" is the group that deserves a class-action lawsuit, for all of the money that they have screwed folks out of in using their "services".

We get a paltry $640 each (maximum), while the "legal team" gets a sum so large that they can buy boats and Mercedes-Benz cars. Seems that lawyers in general conspired to fix, raise and control the price of legal services, monopolized the use of city, county, state and federal judicial and similar systems, and issued irregular hours charges and man-hour rates compared to reasonable and fair ratings for similar professionals of similar ability, knowledge, academic progress and overall success.

Gee, sounds like time for another lawsuit. Time for the lawyers to sue themselves and give the rightful monies back to the people. But they never really cared THAT much about anything beyond what company was the best target to line their pockets, huh?

I just saved the link to look at it a later time; have not read it yet. I'm assuming from the anti lawyer vitriol ^^^^^ above, that the more costly the diamond purchased, the less of a share in the proceeeds of the settlement can be had?

So, if true, why is that news? This is a country that punishes wealth. The more income you make, the more contributions you should make, percentage wise, in taxes, or so we are told, so why am I not surprised that the bigger the diamond a guy can buy for his sweetie, the less he will get back, percentage wise, compared to the guy who buys a $99 diamond at Zales?

When is the deadline for filing a claim?

You can always opt out of a class action and bring your own suit directly if you think that to your advantage.
