DEXTRON (yes, with a T!)

Ok, Dexron, I know. But I have in front of me, at this very moment, a GM service manual for a 1991 C4 Corvette with the L98 engine, copyright 1990 by General Motors Corporation, in which I am told to use only DEXTRON® II fluid. GM part number 1051855 or equivalent. Is this a misprint or did GM call it DEXTRON II (yes, it's in all caps like that)?

Probably just a typo. But an awesome one at that!
 
misprint although it was commonly mispronounced/spelled DEXTRON.

I know! I was completely shocked! Even GM makes this mistake.
