Hey guys,

Going to be changing the transmission fluid in the girlfriend's Camaro at the next OCI. Was wondering what fluids you would/wouldn't use. Also, not looking to pay out the (edit - mod) for it...but if it is truly a superior product, I will consider it.

Thanks in advance!

If your application calls for Dex VI MaxLife is compatible. I'm using it in my 08 BMW which is a GM trans calling for Dex VI with no issues.

Perhaps this is in your price range. I have no idea how much it is at Walmart.

Awesome! I was not aware the SuperTech had a Dex VI. I have used their ATF+4 for countless miles with no issues.

Thanks!

Thanks for the response! I guess I'm going to have to shop around and see what I can find the best deal on. But I do believe it is going to be hard to beat the SuperTech at $4.27/qt.

Dex VI is the appropriate fluid. There is no other acceptable fluid, nor is there any other sort of "lesser" dexron on the market. All other licenses are void.

Use the ST and be done. Unless you get a discount code for AAP.

Yeah, that is more than likely what I'm going to do. Also, is there any filter that would be recommended? O'Reilly has a PowerTorque (never heard of them) filter, Autozone has their Duralast filter, Advance has Pro-King, and NAPA has their own line as well. Any of them better/worse than the other? Or should I just go with the one that is the cheapest?

Thanks again.

I'm certainly not against doing that, I have one for the 47RE in my Cummins. I will definitely have to take a look at it and see where I could mount one...

Here is the one I have:

Also, what kit would you recommend? Or I could even make my own kit...filter mount, some hose, and some fittings...shouldn't be too big of a deal.

Will possibly go with the OEM...but I looked at the WIX website and they have nothing for my transmission application.
