My old shop vac branded wet/dry vac gave up the ghost this week and started making funny noises and shooting stuff out the back. I probably could’ve fixed it but it was time for a new one.

I did a bit of research before deciding on this Dewalt vac. I wanted to spend under $100 and so it left me with a few Hart models, Bauer, Ridgid, and then this Dewalt Stealthsonic. I really didn’t need anything more than 6-10 gallons for what I use it for.

The biggest downside of my old vac was the super small diameter hose that meant it always got clogged and couldn’t vacuum anything big. This new one is 1 7/8 inch in comparison to some other models 2 1/2 inch hose.

I turned it on and was SHOCKED how quiet it was. It’s quieter than normal vacuums I use around the house and I could have a conversation with someone while using it

I would highly recommend!

I have a 1500w kobalt and it sucks, but it is LOUD.
for the 10 times a year I pull it out for bigger jobs (have a couple battery vacs)
its fine.

We have a couple Stealthsonics at work. Very quiet and worth the $$$. We replaced an old screaming craftsman and soon after replaced the other because it was so so so much quieter.

I’m still shocked when I turn it on. Have they been pretty reliable for you?

had a old type of shop vac that sounded like a air-raid siren,,then got a 9-gallon Dewalt so much better vac ,not only in performance, but noticeably quieter.

I'd love a quiet shop vac!!!! Wife would have a cow if I bought another one. I have a +/-40 year old 12 gal. ShopVac that's still going strong. It has the old style paper bag filter and 1 1/2" hose. I retired it to the basement and got a 16 gal. Craftsman (now +/- 25 years old and still strong) with honest wet capabilities and a 2 1/2" hose for the garage. It has a washable cartridge style filter (like most newer machines) that handles dry wall dust nicely. I also just recently got a small ArmorAll 2 1/2" gallon corded vac that I use exclusively for car cleaning. Super convenient with more than adequate suction for interior use. The two big ones sound like jet engines and even the small one is pretty noisy

I’ve got a stihl from years ago that has unbelievable suction and is relatively quiet. Unfortunately a filter is a kings ransom so it’s been used as solely a wet vac.

my local Costco shows it at $89.99 after $20 off but it still looks like a nice deal…hose looks heavier duty than my old Craftsman

Thanks Highboy...

That's exactly how my last one was 😂 . If I didn't wear ear plugs I couldn't hear very well for a few days.
Most people dont realize that everyday activities such as power tools, grass cutting etc contributes to hearing loss. A good pair of earplugs such as Macks 33 NRR foam plugs rolled up and inserted fully in the ear canal and allowed to expand work GREAT.

Huh, what’d you say? Is what I'd be saying after running my old vac.
