Fleetguard or Donaldson would likely be a more reasonably priced option.

Caterpillar does not deliver and are very expensive.

There is a truck parts house that can get other brands but they too stock wix. I needed a filter now, not tomorrow.

My area was already limited in what we can get and now it's even worse. It would take me a couple hrs to truck across town to the cat dealer. Not something my boss wants to pay me to do.

Problem solved. All filters can have an issue from time to time, why where possible pre-inspection before purchase best practice.

I ran into a Baldwin like that about 10 yrs ago. After pumping out 10's of thousands of filters there's bound to be a dud every now and then.

When I was much younger working at a Big A parts store, we received a bunch of filters without gaskets installed.

I've been checking for gaskets now for the past 40 years.

With all these issues with Wix and Napa Gold does anybody know anything about Donaldson's or Hastings. I did notice Donaldson's makes an oil filter for my vehicle.. #P577066

I have never personally run Donaldson, so I can't give any first hand experience.
Hastings is just Baldwin with white paint instead of red, I have used Hastings quite a bit and when I've cut them open they have always been well built. All of the Hastings that I have used have been made in the USA.
