Decent Boost Mobile Unlimited with New iPhone Pro every year $60 a month + taxes/fees

About 2 weeks after I wrote the above, I did take advantage of the buy a qualifying 5g phone and get a year of the $25/month service.

So, I moved my Mint Mobile line.

The only downside was they don't pro-rate the service. I should have waited 2 more days for my billing cycle to close before the next one started. In other words, I paid $25 for 2 or 3 days service.

But, to be fair, no activation fees like the $35 ATT charges. So, it's a wash, but was avoidable.

The price for the iPhone 16 Pro was the same as if I bought it directly from Apple. Since I paid for the phone in full, AND I am on a post paid plan (YMMV for pre-paid plans) My phone was activated in about 15 minutes and fully unlocked for use on other carriers within the next 4 hours give or take.

That mean I could move my AT&T eSIM to this phone that is my work line. I don't need to juggle two phones. Just make sure I know which line I'm using when I make a call.

The service on Boost has been good. Really no better or worse than ATT, TMO or VZN.

I do notice more use of the ATT network when I take a look at the "Field Test" data. I think Dish/Boost is trying work more with ATT and less with TMO.

The one thing that is a bit concerning is the deal for TPG group to acquire Dish and Hopper fell through as Dish was unable to get the bond holders to agree to the "haircut" prescribed in the deal

I don't know when the debt is due. I know ATT wants to offload DirecTV and Echostar (the parent of Dish and Boost) want to offload Dish and Hopper, so perhaps another deal can be made. I now Boost has valuable spectrum they can offer a potential suitor/savior.

We live in interesting times, that's for sure.

But for right now, I pay less than $30/month for two unlimited lines on Boost.
