Debating on high mileage oil....

That it is...Seems no car of mine can pull more than 25mpgs in this weather...


Should be better when we stay in the 40s for a while...

Here's an anecdote:

The Sienna and the totaled Camry in my sig block each had 2 owners before me. I have absolutely no reason to believe that either one ever had anything other than a plain bulk dino diet for their first under their prior ownership (i.e. 87k and 107k miles, respectively) because the spotty service records I have show only Iffy Lube type places with basic service. As soon as I got each one 7 years ago, they started an exclusive full synthetic (Mobil 1 Extended Performance) diet and remained on it for 7 and 6 years, respectively, before beginning to leak...albeit not really dripping on ground, but rather just enough to dampen everything. I don't believe either one actually consumes much. So, the Sienna just started its HM diet this year and the totaled Camry started its HM diet last year.

Yeah, hers does not seem to be leaking it anywhere either. I'm thinking at some point close to switch her over to a High Mileage oil.


I did another change with Quaker State Ultimate Durability this time around, and everything seems to be peachy now. No issues, and the oil is full and still there. I mean this poor car survived the worst winter of it's life...

It's going to get plenty of tlc and updates this spring, and I think an update to High Mileage syn is coming....just to be on the safe side.....
