Dayco timing belt kit. Hope it's ok

Everybody has their GOAT. I'm just " old school", because I'm old LOL ! :) Use whatever floats you're gaskets.:) But DO NOT use RTV. That's a gasket maker. Although I've used RTV on oil pan gaskets, in the areas the gasket just can't get to. A dab here and there, that's about it for the RTV. Happy gasket sealing everybody ! :)

Sunsong is doing a lot of brake hose/PS hose even with the OEMs. I wouldn’t be shocked if a Tesla or a Chevy has Sunsong from the factory. A lot of AC refrigerant and power steering hose is Parker - even on Japanese cars. Unless the car was made in Japan, then it’s Yokohama, Nichirin or Bridgestone AC/PS hose.
I also had a Sunsong hose for a Ram that was built backwards with the ends flipped. 100% impossible to install.

I know Sunsong can build quality stuff but when they drop the ball, they do it in a most spectacular fashion.

And I'll once again repeat my complaint that they sometimes furnish .030 copper washers which seal about as well as cardboard. But sometimes they include .045" or even .060" which work great.

Yea, I had to get OEM Toyota(Toyoda Gosei) hoses on a Lexus, the aftermarket BrakeBest ones were causing some weird brake bias issues.

While the hose stock comes from one the major tubing makers(Gates, Parker, Danfoss/Weatherhead) or rubber company(Conti, Bridgestone, Yokohama), a third party like Cooper Standard or TI Automotive will make the final assembly - fittings and all. The Japanese are much more integrated - Nichrin, Tokai Rubber or Toyoda Gosei.

In an another hobby - there’s air hoses that connect the first stage regulator to the second stage you breathe off of underwater. That hose stock is made in Germany or Italy by Conti or Parker, but the scuba hose assembly itself has fittings made in China, Italy or the US(scuba diving standardized on Swagelok-type fittings) and the whole thing was finished in Taiwan or Italy.

WOW !!!! :( Flipped ends is a HUGE ball drop. You musta been scratchin you're head big time thinkin it was you ( That's what I would've done ) As for the caliper washers, I've seen that before with re-man calipers. I'm up to 2 plastic trays marked " caliper washers" in my storage racks. That doesn't surprise me. Gotten used to it over the years. The worst part of that is dumping the trays on the workbench, then sift thru ALL the different dimension washers until you hopefully come up with 4 matching ones, even the OE ones I kept ( they actually work, but you shouldn't re-use them ). Now I'm in another mess. Caliper hose bolts. Gonna have to start a new tray for those spares, but I have no more spare trays. Good job for a rainy day. Make room somewhere :( I mean really ! Never had these problems until EVERYTHING was made outside the U.S. In one way, I'm kinda glad I'm way past my prime. The aggravation nowadays is insane. But, I don't want to hang up my tools just yet either. I feel you're pain D60....just I was plain lucky when I was dealing with those Sunsong brake hoses. Got burned on MANY calipers though. Claimed to be " new". Turned out to be re-man junk that started leaking fluid from piston seals 1k later.
