Dad switched to Amsoil today

My Dad (75 Tuesday) asked me to change the oil in his '03 Blazer to Amsoil 10W30 today. He has been a 3000 mile Quaker State user since the early '60s. Today after he drove to town he said it felt like the motor was quieter than normal. He also said that he might let it go 10K like I have been doing in my Jeep.

I never would have thought that he would switch from Quaker State 10W30 after all these years.

That's not strange at all. I switched from Mobil 1 5-30 in my car and 15w-50 in my motorcycle. Both ran better w/ Amsoil, the bike shifted smoother and seemed to run cooler too. Quaker state used to suck years ago, as did Penzoil, may not be the case now though.
