Yes they are! However, I don't know why the OP bothered with this tread, and then never showd us what he found?

Since the oil was clean (in the cylinders) my guess is he got rain or other water in there, knew it, and dumped oil into the intake so the water wouldn't rust anything. Now he'd rather spend $19,000 on a new engine than come clean.
