A few weeks ago I posted that I had 2 defective filters. I could see the anti drain back valve was off centered. Since these were going to be used on the wifes FJ and that the filter on that car sits threads down this simply won't work.

I also got in trouble for saying that ALL purolater parts are junk. That may not be the case but these 2 filters made by purolater are GARBAGE!

The silicone anti drain back valve on both filters got smashed between the baseplate and the cartridge which cut the antidrain back valve.

In one pic you can see where I easily stick a wire through the damage.

This kind of goof up it 100% unacceptable. Even more so when it happens with a well known American brand.

Goofs do happen to all brands but to have 2 or more in a row isn't good.

The chunk missing from one may have been done by me. I'm talking about the other damage.

Look at the baseplate hole imprint in the ADBV. Looks like the ADBV basically chokes of about 1/2 of inlet hole area ... delta-p riser. This isn't anything really "new" with some Purolators. These are older (yellow can PureOne), so not sure if they have rectified this or not.

Why even try using something as old as these are? toss all you have like these and buy new. The grippy paint on the can was the best thing about these filters.

Purolator been having issues, since Bosch bought them?believe it was bosch.first spraying hem gold..then..tearolators.
