Current RAV 4: M1 5W-30 or T&SUV 5W-30?

I'm asking for a friend. Which oil is preferable in his Toyota?

I doubt there will be a significant difference between the two in terms of wear protection. I would give the Truck & SUV 5W-30 a try, but I certainly wouldn't pay an extra $2/qt for it though.

How'd you try the T&SUV, if you won't cough up the dough for it?

The cheaper one. it's only 5k miles.
