I have that mower with the Kawasaki motor on it and was going to change the oil. Looked in the book and it says 20w50, 10w40 etc. I like to use synthetic oil and the last change I used Mobil1 synthetic 20w50 but everywhere I look I find Mobil in a 15w50. Can I just use that and all be fine or should I keep looking? Thanks.

The only Mobil 1 20W50 is the motorcycle oil that's sold by the quart at a pretty heafty price, 15W50 will be just fine in it's place.

How about the Rotella Synthetic 15w40? Been using that in my motorcycle for years.

I see absolutely no reason why you couldn't use 15W40 based on what the manual says if they recommend 10W-40, 20W-50 and straight 40, there's no reason why a quality 15w40 like Rotella T6 couldn't be used.

I get this at my Scag dealer $4 a quart. But basically you could run whatever you want. I ran 15w40 diesel rated oil for many years with no problems.
