I changed the oil for the first time today on this F-150 I just bought, and to my surprise there was an aluminum crush washer on the drain plug. Of course I was unprepared for this, but found a copper crush washer that I had for a VW. A quick search from Autozone shows a ton of choices for this engine. What are you other 4.6 drivers using?

But tell us, what did you do for oil and filter?

Motorcraft syn blend oil and MC filter - the only way to roll with a Ford!

So the 4.6L doesn't have a crush washer? Looks like I'll have to pick up a new plug for the next oil change. I was totally not expecting to see one on a domestic. None of my GMs or Chryslers ever had one. The only other Ford I ever changed the oil on was a 2.5 2000 Ranger, and I don't recall it having one.
