Went on an Alaskan cruise five years ago. Almost everything was perfect. Thinking about doing it again. Things that I liked and a negative;

1. ship was tidy, clean and staff attentive (except my cabin)
2. food was tasty and appealing but under seasoned
3. wifi was spotty
4. convo with fellow passengers was enjoyable
5. convo with ship crew was fun
6. time visiting in Alaskan towns was great. Locals are friendly and their stories will leave you wanting to stay
7. being a sailor (USN), not having to stand a watch underway

didn't like my cabin location, right beneath the bar/dance floor.

Thinking about booking another post-pandemic cruise. Anybody going to take a trip? Previous experiences?

BTW, Wish I'd read this first;

We've done a few Caribbean cruises and very much enjoyed them. We're thinking of doing another, longer (7-9 day) later in the year. Seems like there are two types of people, those that really enjoy them, and those that think they are the bane of all human existence and should be banned forever.

I think of it as a way to see some places where I wouldn't necessarily want to fly to and spend a week, the hotel I'm staying in is just in a different location every morning.
