CQ 84060 Puro thread issue

Puro date code F12L09G1, has the DOUBLE burr trouble, and louvers not really too great either-

looks like a trip back to AAP will be in order...
 
I would return it; it looks like the threads are damaged too much to start/tighten properly.

Return it and get something else. I wouldn't use Purolator anymore.
 
I was able to exchange it for a better looking one. AAP had an offer that was almost too good to be true-5 quarts of AAP Full Synthetic Dexos rated oil (same license# as Amalie Elixir), a CQ Premium Blue filter, AND a CQ Premium air filter for $32.99. The Express' air filter was free (normally $24.99), and some glitch chopped the whole deal down to around $21 (I did use a $5 Speedperks code too). Too good to pass up, I'll just use the filter for a short clean up run.

You broke the golden rule when buying an oil filter;
Always remove the filter from the box and inspect it before buying it!
