I'm adding this to my long list of reasons to only own corded tools.
Your logic is flawless!I'm adding this to my long list of reasons to only own corded tools.
If you want to use a “brand name” knock off of Dewalt, try Waitley. I’ve had good luck with them so far. This screen shot is in CDN dollars. Multiply by 0.7 for USD.
On high draw tools that truly need the amp output of say, a 12.0, it matters. Blowers, chainsaws, chop saw, miter saw, 7" grinder etcThe funny thing in all of this? I bought 2 on eBay in 2018 and they still work fine. And they are constantly used. There are times that I think the fact that we are so well off, we want things to worry about.
I bought a Toyota NAV dvd in 2016 and it never occurred to me that it was counterfeit at $19. Now I realize it is. Should I turn myself in?
The other interesting thing? Allstate is more than willing to warrant the eBay purchase.
What are we talking about. Well, I’ve gotten Amazon (amazon not 3rd party) 5Ah XR @ 2 for $104.
eBay is about $80. Worth it? Maybe not.
But Amazon usually isn’t $104.
Hey! Just because I use them to run a portable fan or a flashlight, to stay comfortable while watching the Phillies, doesn’t mean I’m not a real man (grunting like Tim the Tool Man Taylor)! On high draw tools that truly need the amp output of say, a 12.0, it matters. Blowers, chainsaws, chop saw, miter saw, 7" grinder etc
My non-profit runs the Milwaukee water pumps to death and goes through several 12.0s in a day.
If you're just drilling a few holes or running a jobsite stereo or impact driver, it's much less of an issue.
Imho eBay is efficient. For me to get new with tags Nike Golf shirts for $3.99 plus shipping (got 4 for $24 shipped) isn’t too good to be true. It’s a way for the holder of the goods to unload them (has logos from a co that’s oob).My neighbor, a retired teacher with several degrees including a masters in organic chemistry, buy stuff from a bay all the time, then bitches about it being junk, all the time. Love the guy, but smart aint always smart.
If it is too good to be true, it is always one of three
stolen
fake
ex husbands stuff
well, we are talking about power tool batteries that come from China, there is a difference.Imho eBay is efficient. I just got 4 Buick Enclave OE rims shipped for $56-$68 each. They are $580 list, $202 at wheels america refurbed. Thing is the plastic center cap is $84 alone, and they came with them on the $56-$68.
I wouldn’t assume eBay is stolen counterfeit or ex husband. I got almost all my snap on tools from eBay.
I actually looked closely at my eBay dewalt batteries and see no difference.well, we are talking about power tool batteries that come from China, there is a difference.
Yes, not all stuff from ebay is fake, but alot of it is *fake*.
If Amazon and a 3rd party are selling the same product SKU, they all get mixed up in the warehouse and you never know what you're going to get.Well, I’ve gotten Amazon (amazon not 3rd party) 5Ah XR @ 2 for $104.
I am not arguing that the battery would not work, but it is unlikely that they are made to the same standard. Twice as good? No.I actually looked closely at my eBay dewalt batteries and see no difference.
BUT. I didn’t have the guts to call dewalt with the numbers as I didn’t want to be disappointed that the numbers are fake. The ones I got simply do work and have for 5 years…daily use but not as if I’m on a job site…
Look at the yellow bar on the front of the package that contains the word "Dewalt". On the real package, it goes all the way to the right. On the counterfeit, it stops short of going to the edge.
Here are weights in grams. The Dewalt is heavier.Didn't Project Farm test Waitley batteries, with decent results? Too bad they don't offer more sizes. Have you ever weighed them and compared to the OEM battery?
