Counterfeit fumoto?

Anyone ever hear of counterfeit Fumoto valves? Amazon seller has a deal that seems too good to be true.

It's to the point where I pretty much assume everything on FleaBay or Amazonian is counterfeit unless it comes directly from the retailer store.

Also even if it's sold by and shipped by Amazon (or Walmart or Costco), if Amazon is not an authorized retailer by the manufacturer, you're probably getting a "gray market" item (liquidation, authorized retailer offloading excess stock, etc.).

And who knows how that item was stored or how many months its been sitting in a warehouse, which may/may not matter.

Hasn't there been talk of spark plugs sold by Amazon, shipped by Amazon get mixed with fakes from sold by other sellers on Amazon but ship through Amazon?

Interesting. I've had Fumoto valves on all my vehicles since 2005. I recendly bought one on Amazon and it leaked. I removed it and reinstalled the drain plug. Probably was a fake, sadly. Our Sienna has had an original since 2005 and still going strong.

On my current vehicle, I installed a ValvoMax.
It's pricy but is of good quality.

Thanks, I actually have a Valvomax installed right now. I think it’s a neat idea but my problem is the part that needs to be threaded on every change threatens to lose itself in my garage. Next change I’m replacing it with a short-nipple fumoto and scrap 3/8 ID hose.

If they could somehow change up the ValvoMax to also allow you to drain straight from the valve I think it’d be more versatile. I do like that there’s an extra cap over the valve, but Fumoto die hards would probably say that’s never been a problem they’re probably just not confident in their valve design.
