Corvette to Launch as a Brand in 2025 with a Four-Door and an SUV

Is it really going to bring in more buyers? Corvettes still only appeal to a certain crowd. An old guy who would have gotten a Yukon will now get the Vette XL or whatever.

It will because it will be a different type of product. Yukon is not a performance SUV.

Have SUVs helped Porsche sales? Hell yes!

Its a good business decision. A little late to the party though.

Porsche is seen as its own brand, you had no option. Corvette is a Chevy, you can get a Yukon. At least that's my thinking. It worked with Cadillac though even when the first escalade looked nearly identical to a Denali so I could be wrong.

The people making these decisions aren't into cars. And majority of people who buy cars aren't into cars.

This is why our roads are a sea of crappy two wheel drive SUV's.

This move is a bit baffling to me. I can see this cannibalizing sales from other GM divisions more than bringing new folks to the brand. Unlike the other brands mentioned, Porsche, Maserati, now Lotus (if they even get one out the door) who have or had relatively narrow market offerings when they expanded their lines, GM already has strong presences in the '4 door and SUV' markets.

Good luck to them nonetheless...
