Correct procedure to balance a blade at home

How do you balance a blade when sharpening?

I bought a grey triangle "balancer" and I can definately see if the blade leans to one side or the other. Do you need to spin the blade on this balancer?

Obviously this is not going to be totally "exact"?.Some of the blades sharpened by my pro mower shop actually looked out of balance on my "balancer".

You put the balancer on a level surface and then place the blade on the balancer. If one side is leaning down file the back side of that end of the blade and then repeat until the blade balances level.

Pound a nail into a stud and spin the blade. You can tell if it's heavy on one side if you watch it. I do like the triangle balancers also.
