Cookware and pans

Alright guys, what is your opinion on the best cookware out there to get. My wife really wants some new cookware, not that ours is bad, but it's a cobbled mess of different type stuff. She specifically wants a new sauce pan.

We do have a stainless one, but it looks like ****. We have a non-stick one, but I'm always worried about stratching it off. I'd like to get her some cast iron stuff, but we have a nice glasstop stove and we don't want to sratch it.

I like the anondized aluminum stuff(calphalon) but it says it's not dishwasher safe.

Any opinions, anything to stay away from?

Scanpan Newtek. It ain't cheap but it's indestructible. We have heaps of it and my wife thinks I'm G0d for researching it and buying it for her. You want to get in the 'good books' hint hint there is nothing better trust me. Dishwasher proof too so how can you go wrong. Beautiful stuff!
